Friend, two nights ago, I had a sudden urge to go for a stroll.
I am learning to obey those nudges from God so I left the pot still cooking and headed out. Don't worry! I told my
friend when to turn the stove off. 😜
On my way back I posed a question to God, "Lord, teach me something new about loving myself and my neighbor before I reach the house."
10 seconds later, I spotted a friend I hadn't seen in a while.
Our conversation gave us answers to questions we asked God in private! It turned out that my friend was out that late because of a nudge from God. God literally worked it out so we ran into each other!
Afterwards, the Lord reminded me of my question. Then answered, "Chañel, loving yourself and someone else is about releasing control to Me. You and your friend both got what you needed because you listened and obeyed my directions though it was contrary to your plans." Believe me when I tell you, taking a scroll was not on my agenda.
Friend, I yielded my plans and to-do list to God and you know what? He showed up in a way that showed His love for both me and my friend. And simultaneously gave me and my friend an opportunity to honor Him and love and show up for each other. Such a beautiful demonstration of The Pink Flamingo Way.
Friend, just imagine what God can do if you release control to Him. You and your neighbors - siblings, parents, friends, acquaintances, employer, children, spouse, clients, etc. will be well love, well cherished and well taken care...without you putting yourself last.
